The applied length of this tape depends on whether it is compressed or stretched during application, ie compressing decreases the applied length, while stretching increases the applied length.
Sometimes compressing is need to fill deeper molding recesses and when attaching a molding to an irregular surface, while stretching is appropriate for thin or no recesses in molding and applied to a smooth regular surface.
I suggest adding about 30% to the surface length of your project to allow for applied shrinkage.
Otherwise, the tape needs to be applied with tension to achieve core length or a longer length.
Easier to have an excess on hand, then to run short.
